The result of a partnership between the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Green and Digital Economy, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and the OCP Foundation, the Moroccan Retail Tech Builder (MRTB) is an incubation and acceleration of startups in the commerce sector. This project aims to promote the dissemination of digital solutions adapted to the needs of traders and consumers through strengthening the innovation capacities of Moroccan entrepreneurs, project leaders in the field of commerce. It is part of the efforts made by the Ministry to consolidate best practices in digital commerce, while capitalizing on the efforts of the OCP Foundation in supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The MRTB project also strengthens the positioning of UM6P as a national innovation hub, which already hosts a range of incubation and acceleration programs to allow project leaders to benefit from an environment conducive to their development.

Report

In May 2020, UM6P and the OCP Foundation launched the CoopLab, a laboratory of expertise and support for Moroccan and African cooperatives, which capitalizes on a combination of expertise from the University and the Foundation, as well as on a set of innovative support levers undertaken in the service of social inclusion and sustainable growth. It is in this particular context of health crisis that the CoopLab has developed, in collaboration with the 1337 coding school, “Sookoa”, an e-commerce platform which supports Moroccan and African cooperatives.  www.sookoa.ma offers partner cooperatives a new marketing method through digital and the gradual establishment of a short circuit system for the distribution of purchased products.

Several tests and recommendations for improving the functionality of the platform were also carried out thanks to the participation of the Act4Community initiative and its network of regional cooperatives.

In this sense, a partnership around the Mourafaka program was signed between the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts, Air Transport and the Social Economy, the UM6P, the Cooperation Development Office (ODCO) and the OCP Foundation. This is a program supported by Cooplab-UM6P which will support the training and support of 600 newly created Moroccan cooperatives in the 12 regions of Morocco.

Report

Convinced of the importance of accessibility to quality education for all, the OCP Foundation continues to work and develop training and support programs for people with specific needs in order to strengthen their skills, promote their autonomy, their social integration and their professional integration, but also help them deal with the discrimination they often face.

Thus, the Foundation supports medical-social centers throughout the national territory, targeting PESH, through technical support, training and strengthening of professional skills provided by our specialized partners.
